Raise awareness of heart disease and promote early detection and treatment. The Swiss “Heart ClinicFoundation” helps people to help themselves in developing countries. The health magazine CheckUp, broadcast on TeleZüri on Monday, Feb 27, 2023, shows how this heartfelt project is helping a young woman from Madagascar regain her quality of life.

18-year-old Ando Ny Aina from Madagascar has been suffering from an uninterrupted arrhythmia (atrial flutter) for over a year. This leads to fatigue and an inability to exercise, preventing Ando from leading an active lifestyle as would be normal for a young woman of her age. The arrhythmia is usually caused by a cardiac catheterization procedure. curable. However, this treatment option is not available in Ando’s home country and she lacks the financial means for treatment abroad. With the support of the local NGO “Coeur équitable”, the Heart Clinic Foundation together with Klinik Hirslanden made the patient’s crossing and the successful interventional treatment (ablation) by Prof. J. Steffel on February 7, 2023 possible. We are proud to have made a small but significant contribution to the humanitarian goals of the foundation for the young Ando.
