On July 27, 2023, a LIVE broadcast of a procedure performed by doctors from the Heart Clinic was shown from the Hirslanden Clinic’s hybrid operating room at the international congress “TCT India&South Asia 2023” in Mumbai, India. A percutaneous catheter-based reconstruction was performed by Roberto Corti, Oliver Gaemperli and Ioannis Kapos on a 75-year-old patient with a previously operated (annuloplasty) and again severely leaking mitral valve. The procedure was uncomplicated and very successful and the transfer went smoothly. The procedure was praised by the commenting panel of experts as a very beautiful and instructive demonstration of the technique of percutaneous mitral valve reconstruction. It gave rise to interesting scientific discussions among the panel and the audience in Mumbai about the current status of catheter-based procedures for mitral valve reconstruction.
